You are bidding on a Like New Exterra brand Termite Monitor and Bait System. I purchased this at a yard sale years ago but have since moved and never utilized it. Exterra is designed for use in and around a building under attack from termites and/or as part of an ongoing monitoring plan to determine extent of localized termite activity.
System contains:
-13 complete bait stations with wood inserts.
-100 extra wood inserts.
-Two boxes of bait (will last many years).
-Key to open canisters and check canister status.
-Two extra lids.
The aim is to successfully collect and BAIT a large number of termites in a remote Exterra bait station. The baiting termites transfer the toxic bait as food back to the central subterranean termite colony, which is eventually eliminated as a result. It's a proven techniqe.
Basically, if your home is at risk of termites, the bait canisters are strategically placed (buried flush) around your home. The canisters contain only soft wood. You place no bait into the canister unless you discover termite activity inside the canister during a routine check.
Since the canisters are buried flush with the ground, they do not get in the way of mowing or other lawn care. They are barely noticeable and work great in place of harmful chemical treatments.
Please note: This system is a preventative and monitoring system. It is not intended to quickly rid an infested home of termites that already exist within the structure. Many people have them installed after an initial chemical treatment or if they know that they reside in a high risk area.
