CHLORINE SHOCK TABLETS -
No such thing as a SHOCK TABLET they are just CHLORINE TABLETS - you just disolve them and add to pool or Spa in one go - only some one decide to start calling them SHOCK tablets as a seperate thing and charging more money for them!
These tablets are available in buckets of 100 for £21.00 including courier charges = 21p per tablet and will last basically until you run out of them - if lid is put back on and stored in a cool dark place. - Check out my other items!
10 x 20g Chlorine / Chlorine Shock tablets that will keep your pool sparkling clean and safe from bacteria for 2-4 weeks - depending on weather conditions, warmer water will dissolve the tablet quicker!
Each tablet contains the right mix of chemicals to kill germs and stop algie forming..... I have put these statements in because others have - however it is sort of true and sort not true. - rain will knock chlorine levels out, people splashing about in the pool will knock chlorine levels out, sunlight will knock chlorine levels out. You will have no control over the chlorine levels using tablets as they were designed for inground pools with a constant flow rate running over the tablets in the skimmer basket, people with inground pools also shock their pools once a weeks usually with either Liquid Chlorine 14-15% available chlorine which can not be sold on e-bay as it is a corrosive liquid and also couriers require a special licence from the Dept of Transport to carry or Shock Chlorine Granules which is not to be confused with Chlorine Granules as they are 2 different chemicals - infact if the 2 come into contact with each other are basically b****y dangerous.
1 tablet per 4,500 lts of pool water. True in a skimmer basket with constant flow rate going over them. A 10-12 foot pool will require a minimum of 2 of these tablets, possible more depending on your chlorine levels, please do not think by putting these tablets in you have no need to daily check you chlorine levels - its just not true.
To clarify the water you can purchase Multi-Functional tablets which contain a flocculant and an algaecide. - True again in a skimmer basket with a constant flow rate going over them - again for inground pool to which owners add extra Chlorine to, some even daily. In a floating dispenser bobbing about they must be used in conjunction with chlorine tablets or another form of Chlorine as they do not contain enough chlorine (Trichloroisocyanuric Acid) to sterilize the water, adding more Multi-functional tablets you will overload on the Algicide & flocculant which could cause you other problems like the pH levels - which if are incorrect will harm you skin.
Please be aware however - that constantly using Multifunctional tablets could cause a fine dust at the bottom of the pool - this is because the flocculants has caused the fine partials to sink, by running your pump 24/7 the water containing the fine particles is drawn into the filter and removed by the cartridge - if however there is no water movement then these fine particles clump together and will sink to the bottom of the pool and are very hard to remove, and cause a 'cloud' effect when you get in the pool. (Test results 2007).
If you keep the chlorine levels up, run the filter pump correctly and keep the filter cartridges clean you should have no need for multi-functional tablets. If however you find your water does go cloudy we highly recommend Champion Pool Sparkle which is a one off treatment, this will not only clear the cloudiness but will also 'polish' the water and give it a glass like effect.
How to use – Place into floating dispenser, 1 tablet per 4,500 lts (1,000 gallons) of water. If you have an in ground pool place tablets(s) into skimmer baskets. Floating dispensers must be removed from the pool when pool in use. Tablets must never be put directly into the pool as they will damage the liner.
How to use as a Shock Treatment. - Dilute 1 tablet per 4,500 lts of pool water with 2-3 Lts of warm water (not boiling - also advise doing this outside re fumes) and pour gently around the pool run the filter pump for 24-48 hours - No such thing they are basically the same tablets - only someone decided to sell as SHOCK TABLETS
Check chlorine levels after 24 hours to maintain a reading of between 1-3 ppm (parts per million) If you still do not have a reading repeat the above step.
